Welcome to The Birth of Perspective! I’m Jessica and that hunk next to me is my husband, Brian. This year is not only unique in that it is 2020, but it also marks our 20th year as a couple. Aww! We like to spend our free time not doing laundry and chasing around our three blue-eyed blondies. The ladies are currently 10, 5, and 2 and pack a whole lotta sass.
Being from Michigan, we can’t get enough of the coast. Our family is a beach family whether it’s freshwater or salt. Our summers are spent on Lake Michigan, and our winters are spent dreaming of it. Get ready for some beach-going guides, reviews, packing lists, and more so your family can beach it with us!
I’ve been a middle school teacher for nearly 15 years. I truly believe my job is one of the most rewarding there is, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. People think it’s crazy, but spending the day with young adolescents can offer all kinds of new perspectives and lots of laughs.
My perspective on life changed a lot with the birth of our third daughter. Having a child with unique medical needs has allowed me to empathize on a deeper level with so many people I come in contact with every day. It has also helped me find gratitude for the day-to-day happenings that might otherwise get lost in the chaos. We understand that parenthood is a journey that is never over and has no guarantees. Our journey is just unfolding, and I would love to share it with you as we figure it out one unfolded basket of laundry at a time.
